Stan is also involved in several local and national organizations including being a past president of the North Carolina Council of Churches.

At 23, he is the youngest executive director of an arts organization in the country, according to Musical America. He is a conductor and writer, currently editing a book on the great conductors with Maestro William Henry Curry.
